Vet Tech Training for Veterans Including Cisco Training in Los Angeles

The information technology field is looking for veterans.  We call them vet techs.  If you served in our military and worked with Technical Devices, a promising civilian career is waiting for you after you leave the service.

Veterans are wanted for cyber-security jobs.  The reason for this explosive demand is vets are trained in the US military to protect and serve.  The ability to guard any organizations network against a cyber-attack clearly fits the definition of protecting and serving.  Cisco training is a key component in cyber-security as we will explain in this article.

Before a veteran can train for Cisco, two prerequisite certifications are needed.  These certifications include: the CompTIA A+ for computer repair and the CompTIA network + for server installation and back up.

The CompTIA A+ Provides The Vet Tech with the fundamental back ground skills for computer repair, software installation, basic cyber-security and a strong introduction for building a small network. All companies want new employees working in information technology to be certified for computer repair.  Computer repair is the best way to advance any career in the field of information technology.  The CompTIA A+ is usually completed within five weeks.  Many vet techs have found an entry-level job after completing the first leg of the CompTIA A+ program. 

Your second certification, which will get you close to Cisco is the CompTIA Network +.  This certification deals with the corporate server.  The corporate server is the large computer that has the job of distributing programs to all computers or workstations at a company.  The server is your direct connection to that Cisco router, which we will be talking about in a few sentences.  When working with that corporate server you will learn how to install, repair, backup and secure any corporate server.  You will also learn how your server can act as a monitor for that Cisco router.  Again, the certification to handle corporate servers is the CompTIA Network +. 

Now let’s talk about Cisco.  Cisco has a powerful certification, which is known as the Cisco Certified Network Associate or CCNA.  Holders of the CCNA can install, repair, configure, back up and secure corporate routers.  Veterans Training with Cisco will also receive a strong introduction to Cisco Wireless.

Cisco has three supplemental certifications, which are obtained after the CCNA.  These are Cisco Wireless, Cisco VoIP and Cisco Security.  Many vet techs choose the Cisco security certification after passing their CCNA because of the excellent training Cisco provides.

After completing your Cisco CCNA, cyber-security has three other certifications.  These are the CompTIA Security +, which teaches you how to protect devices against cyber-attacks.  Vet Techs also will train for the Certified Ethical Hacker, which has 603 cyber penetration testing tools. As a vet tech you will be able to conduct penetration testing for any organization that needs your skills.  Finally a good vet tech will learn about the Fundamentals of Linux offered by CompTIA. Linux has many versions or flavors, which makes it very difficult for a criminal to attack.
