If you believe that cyber-security is a dying field, think again. The US Department of Labor reports a shortage of 219,000 cyber-security trained personnel exists in 2019. Marriott Hotels revealed last week one of the biggest breaches of Cyber-Security occurred at their hotel chain. This data security breach is believed to be one of the biggest in history. Five hundred million accounts were hacked. The hacks included personal information from guests staying at: Marriott, Starwood, Sheraton, St. Regis, and Westin Hotels. Personal credit card information, email addresses, telephone numbers and employment data were part of the theft. Five attorney generals in the United States announced they will be launching separate state investigations. The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced on December 3 that it was also investigating the hack.The key take away from this information is that massive regulation is coming.
